Charity Work by All Saints' Children

Courageous Advocacy and Transformational Giving at All Saints’

At All Saints’, we are proud to see our children growing into compassionate, courageous advocates, inspired by our Christian vision:
Discovering God, Learning Together, Achieving Our Best.

Over recent years—through Collective Worship, Church Week experiences, engagement with a range of charities and community partnerships—our children have developed a deep and authentic understanding of what it means to make a transformational difference in the lives of others. More than ever, they are showing a powerful sense of empathy and moral purpose, with a real drive to take action on the things that speak to their hearts.

Whether responding to global crises, local needs, or causes close to their own lived experiences, our pupils demonstrate a strong commitment to doing what is right. No matter how big or small the act, they consistently seek opportunities to go above and beyond to help, serve and show kindness, living out our Christian values in practical, heartfelt ways.

Through charity work and giving back, our children learn that they have a voice that matters. As a school, we nurture and guide their passions—helping them to channel their concerns into meaningful action. We celebrate these acts of advocacy and, in doing so, inspire others within our school family to follow their lead.

Whether it’s through our Young Leaders programme (Archbishop of York Trust), Ethos Team, or individual pupil-led initiatives, we empower our children to see that their actions can bring about real, tangible change—locally and beyond. These experiences not only build character and confidence, but also cultivate a deep awareness of justice, equality and service to others.

At All Saints’, our children are not only learning about the world—they are already helping to change it for the better.

All Saints' Staff Charity Work

Staff Charity Work in Action – Living Out Our Vision

At All Saints’, we believe that living out our values is just as important as teaching them. As a staff team, we are deeply committed to being positive role models for our pupils—demonstrating compassion, courage, and service in all we do. We know that our children look up to us, and we aim to lead by example, ensuring they receive not only the highest standards of academic education but also a rich foundation for life grounded in moral integrity and global citizenship.

In the spirit of our school’s Christian vision—to flourish and grow together in heart, mind, and spirit—our staff have actively engaged in charitable efforts that reflect our commitment to others, both locally and globally. Recently, members of the team have completed walking marathons and even ultra-marathons to raise much-needed funds for causes close to our hearts, including Macmillan Cancer Support and Potter’s Village, a child crisis and orphanage centre in Uganda.

These efforts reflect our belief in 'walking the walk' as well as 'talking the talk'. Through personal challenge and collective action, we aim to inspire our pupils to recognise the power of service, resilience, and compassion in creating a better world. As a staff team, we will continue to seek out opportunities to make a difference—locally and globally—putting faith into action and encouraging our pupils to do the same.

Anti Racist School

Committed to Being an Anti-Racist School

At All Saints’, we believe that every individual is made in the image of God, and therefore worthy of dignity, respect, and love. As part of our commitment to our Christian vision—Discovering God, Learning Together, Achieving Our Best—we actively work to ensure our school community promotes inclusion, celebrates diversity, and stands firmly against racism in all its forms.

In 2023–2024, we were proud to be part of the Stockport Pilot Launch to become an Anti-Racist School, led by Stockport’s Ethnic Diversity Services. This journey has been transformational for staff and leaders, with in-depth professional development ensuring we are well equipped to foster a culture of anti-racism, justice and equity across the whole school.

As a predominantly White British school, we recognise the gap and importance of intentionally preparing our children to live in and contribute to a wonderfully diverse and multicultural world. We are committed to broadening perspectives and ensuring our curriculum reflects the richness of a range of ethnically diverse voices, experiences and contributions.

Highlights of this work include:

  • Anti-racism workshops delivered by Show Racism the Red Card, helping children to explore challenging issues through discussion and learning.

  • Curriculum development to embed representation across subjects, ensuring all children see themselves—and others—reflected in what they learn.

  • Open conversations about respect, identity, and justice, underpinned by our core Christian values of compassion, hope, courage and truthfulness.

We are proud to say that racism will never be tolerated at All Saints’. Incidents are addressed sensitively, clearly and restoratively, ensuring that both children and adults grow in understanding, empathy, and responsibility.

At All Saints’, we strive to be a school where every child feels seen, safe and celebrated, and where we actively pursue a future of equity, unity and love for all.

Living Out Our Faith Through Service: Supporting ‘The Pantry’ and Our Local Community

At All Saints’, we believe that faith in action is a vital part of our identity as a Church school. In line with our Christian vision—Discovering God, Learning Together, Achieving Our Best—we work in close partnership with All Saints’ Church to support our local community, particularly through ongoing support of the local food bank, ‘The Pantry’.

Each year at Harvest, our children and families generously donate food and essentials. Our Ethos Leaders personally deliver these donations to The Pantry, allowing them to see the impact of their compassion and understand the importance of serving others in love and humility. These experiences help children connect their learning and faith to real-life situations, and reflect on how they can make a difference in the world around them.

We are open in our discussions with children about inequality and need. We speak honestly and sensitively about how anyone may need support at any time, and that accepting help is not a source of shame but a reflection of the strength of community. This fosters a culture of empathy, dignity, and respect within our school.

Throughout the year—and especially before school holidays—we continue to promote The Pantry through our newsletters and Tapestry platform. We prepare and deliver food bags for families who may benefit from a little extra support. Discretion and kindness are always at the heart of this outreach.

At Christmas, our partnership with All Saints’ Church grows even stronger as we work together to provide food hampers and gifts. We also collaborate with local charities to ensure that no one in our school community is left without the essentials—or the joy—that this season should bring.

Through these acts of generosity and justice, we are helping our children understand what it truly means to love your neighbour, and to be people of hope, compassion and action.

Matthew 25:35–36
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink...”

Wilmott Dixon - Community outreach work

A Heartfelt Thank You to Becky and the Willmott Dixon Team

At All Saints’ C of E Primary School, we are incredibly grateful to Becky and the entire Willmott Dixon team for their outstanding support—not just to our school, but to the wider community we serve. Their business partnership connecting with All Saints' has helped bring our Christian vision to life: enabling every child to "achieve their best" and flourish spiritually, socially, and academically.

This inspiring collaboration began with PIE (Pursuing Individual Excellence) Charity and Gemma Piper, as we explored ways to expand opportunities for our pupils and how to build stronger community links.

In 2024, Willmott Dixon’s generosity brought unexpected joy when each of our 205 pupils received a Christmas selection box—a small gesture that made a big impact, lighting up our celebration assembly with excitement and gratitude. Becky also played a key role in our intergenerational outreach, accompanying our school choir to Marple care homes. Singing, dancing, and sharing moments of joy with elderly residents, she helped our children experience the power of service, compassion and connection across generations.

Becky later led a whole-school assembly introducing the Marple Community Hub and inspiring pupils to explore careers in construction. This experience powerfully supported our collective mission to raise aspirations and broaden horizons, especially for children from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds.

One of the most impactful outcomes of this partnership has been the launch of a free after-school construction club, led by Becky and open to all pupils—with a focus on inclusivity for those in receipt of Pupil Premium or with SEND needs. The club provides a hands-on, creative environment where pupils of all abilities can build skills, confidence and self-worth. We’ve seen children with low attendance and social anxieties flourish in these sessions—evidence of the transformational power of community-led enrichment. Parents have told us how much their children look forward to the club each month—clear testimony to its value.

Beyond the classroom, Becky has also supported our outdoor play provision, donating imaginative resources like a much-loved tunnel for our junkyard play area—encouraging creative risk-taking and problem-solving during playtime.

Perhaps most notably, Willmott Dixon’s support enabled us to safely remove an old trim trail at no cost—saving the school over £2,000. This generous act paved the way for our PTA to install a brand-new climbing frame, something that would not have been possible without this help. The impact on our children’s physical development and enjoyment has been immediate and lasting.

Through every initiative, Becky and the Willmott Dixon team have modelled the very values we aim to instil in our pupils: generosity, courage, service, and hope. They have helped us live out our mission not just in words, but in action—building up our school family and strengthening bonds across the wider community.

Bible Quote

Biblical Foundations of Giving and Service

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” — Acts 20:35 (NIV)

This powerful verse reminds us of Jesus’ call to live lives of generosity, compassion, and service. As a Church School, we are deeply committed to instilling these values in our pupils, encouraging them to become courageous advocates for justice, equality, and kindness in both their local and global communities.

Acts 20:35 helps shape this vision by teaching children that true joy is found not in receiving, but in giving — particularly to those in need. This aligns with our commitment to nurture pupils who are empathetic, active citizens, willing to stand up for others and make a difference in the world.

In school, we reflect this by:

  • Supporting local foodbanks and charities

  • Partnering with global aid organisations

  • Championing inclusion and anti-bullying

  • Encouraging pupil-led fundraising initiatives

  • Promoting service within the school and wider community

All Saints’ Global Neighbours Journey (SIAMS 2025 Focus)
This year, All Saints’ is proudly working towards the Global Neighbours accreditation—a prestigious award developed by Christian Aid in partnership with the Church of England Education Office. This framework encourages schools to nurture global citizenship and cultivate courageous advocates for justice by embedding five key areas across school life: leadership, teaching and learning; collective worship and spiritual development; pupil participation in active global citizenship; and community engagement globalneighbours.christianaid.org.ukchristianaid.org.uk.

This award strengthens our spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development by integrating global perspectives into our teaching, collective worship, and everyday school life. Through this journey, our pupils are invited not only to deepen their understanding of global poverty and injustice but also to act—transforming our vision of discovering God, learning together, achieving our best into practical, courageous advocacy locally and globally christianaid.org.ukglobalneighbours.christianaid.org.uk.

Colour Run Charity Fundraiser Summer 2025

Moments of Joy – Living Our Vision at All Saints’
This summer, our whole school community came together for a truly unforgettable event—the All Saints’ Colour Run! The smiles, laughter, and sheer joy shared that day perfectly capture the spirit of our school. From courageous determination shown by children for whom such events can feel overwhelming, to the beautiful moment when a group of Year 6 girls linked arms to help one superstar pupil win her final All Saints' race—this was a living example of compassion, inclusivity, and joy in action!

Every adult played their part to create a day that will live long in the memory—truly a “moment of joy” that reflects our vision: Discovering God, learning together, achieving our best. And the impact didn’t stop there. Through this joyful event, our children and families raised an incredible £608 for Potter’s Village in Uganda—a cause close to our hearts. Mr. McShane personally delivered the donation during his mission visit in August 2025, ensuring that the love and generosity of our school family made a real difference on the other side of the world.

This day is a just one of our powerful examples of our commitment to courageous advocacy, character development, and serving others with joy and compassion.

What a team. What a school. What an impact!
