Flourish Project

Empowering Flourishing in Our School Community

At the heart of our school’s Christian vision, the Flourish Project is a commitment to nurturing the holistic well-being of our learners and staff. Through faith-rooted values and innovative practice, we aim to ensure that every member of our community can thrive, grow in confidence, and achieve fullness of life.

Our Vision of Flourishing

“We believe that every child and adult is uniquely created in God’s image and called to flourish—spiritually, emotionally, academically, and socially.”

This vision reflects SIAMS principles that focus on how a school’s Christian vision enables flourishing through:

  • Vision & Leadership

  • Character Development

  • Community & Living Well Together

  • Dignity & Respect

  • Collective Worship

  • Religious Education

Our Approach

1. Values-Led Curriculum & Ethos

  • Named after the values we hold dear, the Flourish Project is deeply integrated into the heartbeat of our school’s calendar approximately each month.

  • Learning experiences are crafted not just for academic growth, but to shape hearts and character—to help children and families discover their strengths and purpose.

2. Spiritual Growth Through INTERGENERATIONAL Worship

  • Worship is monthly after school and invitational, providing space to reflect, pray, sing and respond to Christian values in a personal, fun, active and meaningful way.

  • Our worship themes mirror Flourish principles, inviting learners to explore big questions, grow spiritually, and be guided by faith in community.

3. Intentional Spiritual Development

  • We cultivate spiritual growth using “OWs, WOWs and NOWs”—a reflective framework that encourages wonder, inward personal reflection, and applying insights to life.

4. Flourishing Through Character Formation

  • Pupils are encouraged to live out values such as kindness, love and responsibility—both through indoor and outdoor engaging activities based around a 'Messy Church' style theme.

  • Opportunities abound for them to flourish as active, compassionate and responsible members of school and beyond.

5. Inclusive, Nurturing Culture

  • Flourish is evident in how we care for each individual—with pastoral support, reflection spaces, and encouragement for everyone to thrive and connect together in our school community for both old and young.

  • The culture of dignity and respect is foundational and consistently lived out through policies, curriculum and relationships.

6. Religious Education That Inspires

  • RE is designed to be insightful, inclusive, and reflective, enabling children to articulate their beliefs and engage thoughtfully with diverse perspectives.

  • It’s a key space where Flourish values—like wisdom, discernment, and empathy—come alivethrough gentle talk, inspiring and thoughtfully planned activities and creative, interactive worship.

Soul Children Marple: Singing, Faith, and Flourishing Together

At All Saints’ C of E Primary School, something truly special is unfolding. Soul Children Marple, part of the Church of England’s Flourish Project, is bringing children from Reception through Year 6 together in song, joy, and faith. This vibrant soul choir not only teaches brilliant, upbeat songs but also supports children on their spiritual journey, helping them live out our school’s Christian values every day.

Each week, Soul Children Marple explores meaningful themes such as kindness and love as well as special times in the Christian calendar namely Christmas and Easter through powerful songs. These aren’t just melodies — they are inspiring messages that uplift our children and the whole school community. Whether in before-school or lunchtime clubs, the children’s voices spread positivity, foster friendships, build confidence, and develop new skills.

At our Flourish Worship services, Soul Children Marple takes centre stage, leading our intergenerational worship. Families join in singing, learning lyrics and dance moves from Soul Children UK videos, creating a joyful and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels connected and engaged.

Beyond the school walls, our choir shares God’s love in the wider community. Each December, the children visit local nursing homes, filling them with festive spirit and song. The response is truly heartwarming — residents, many in their 90s, often join in with clapping and dancing, creating unforgettable moments of joy and connection.

One of the choir’s standout events is the annual Carol Concert at All Saints’ Church, where the choir unites the school with songs like ‘Best Gift Ever’ by Chip Kendall. Witnessing over 120 KS2 children sing passionately and perform with enthusiasm is a source of immense pride and energy, lifting the whole congregation.

Soul Children Marple songs are a hit everywhere—from playgrounds and homes to car journeys and family discos. Songs like “Let The Love Flow” have become firm favourites, reflecting how deeply the children have embraced this musical journey.

What makes Soul Children Marple truly remarkable is its welcoming spirit. Every child, regardless of ability or confidence, finds a place here. It’s not about being the best singer but about belonging to something bigger—where every voice matters. The choir nurtures quieter children, helping them grow in self-assurance within a safe, supportive family.

Joining Soul Children Marple is more than singing; it’s about creating memories, building relationships, and deepening spirituality. Through music, children learn vital life lessons—kindness, love, and sharing God’s message—that resonate far beyond the choir.

Soul Children Marple embodies our school’s Christian vision, nurturing both spiritual and personal growth through joyful worship. Looking ahead, we are excited to expand performances across care homes, nurseries, and our church congregation, sharing faith and love throughout our community.

We dream of future milestones—a Christmas 'Big Sing' at Audacious Church in Manchester with other Soul Children UK choirs, a mini outdoor worship festival as part of Flourish next Summer 2026, and even a national concert alongside other choirs—moments that will create lasting memories and deepen our worshipping community.

Soul Children Marple is more than just a choir — it’s a place where children express themselves, feel valued, and connect with God and others. It’s been an incredible journey, and we eagerly look forward to the bright future ahead.
