CLASS THREE
Welcome to Year 3
All learning in Class 3 starts by revisiting prior knowledge and this supports children to recall previous learning and make connections. We strongly believe that a classroom with laughter and smiles is a classroom that learns best and we promote a positive attitude in everything that we do.
In maths, we follow the 'White Rose' scheme as we learn principles including Place Value, Multiplication and Shape. The scheme develops the key areas of the National Curriculum, giving children the knowledge and skills they need to become confident mathematicians. Have a look at the long term and medium term plans below. Click on the white rose link here:

Here are a few bits of information to help you:
- Please send in a small, healthy snack with your child. (Not a sugary or chocolate snack) Please remember that this cannot contain nuts or peanuts (including chocolate such at Nutella).
- P.E. is on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
- We love to celebrate good efforts and hard work, so every Friday we will be send out our “Friday Shout Out” on Tapestry.
- Spellings will be learned on a weekly basis, and tests will be half-termly.
- Homework is sent out on Fridays and due the following Wednesday.
One of the most vital ways that you can support your child's learning is by reading with them regularly. Discussing what your child is reading will help them secure their comprehension skills and encourage a love of reading.
If you have any questions or concerns, at any time throughout the course of the year, please do not hesitate to speak to us by appointment or for a brief chat on the door.
For families of children already in our school, please remember to regularly view Tapestry for our weekly ‘Friday Shout Outs’ and much more!
